Chelsea in Cavani talks, confirms Napoli president

SSC Napoli v AS Roma - Serie A
There have been rumors floating around in the transfer market that the new Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been handed over £100 million as transfer funds to strengthen the squad by the Russian owner Roman Abrahimovic. And reportedly, Mourinho is about to use the half of it in the coming days.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed Chelsea’s interest in the Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani. The striker has been linked with the West London club for past few months but Napoli were adamant not to negotiate a transfer and they insisted that one will have to trigger the £53 million release clause included in the 26-year-old’s contract.
Now, Laurentiis has revealed that a deal may be agreed upon in the coming days. “If Cavani is sold then I’ll re-invest all of the £53m of his rescission clause. There is interest from Chelsea in Cavani, they’ll call me in the next few hours,” Laurentiis said.
“I’ll be delighted if he stays, but if he leaves then he will be adequately replaced,” he added.
